Create a Kids Gallery Wall

I have tried creating picture gallery walls in the past and although they’ve looked OK they’ve just never felt right. Ruby does it perfectly though and I think the trick is to add other touches like the Explore felt pennant, the fun but functional wall light and mixing textures with the combinations of felt and wooden beads and the pampas grass wreath that all add another level.

I always start with colour whether you’re starting from scratch or have a colour scheme you are already working with. Creating colour combinations can be so much fun and I love the mix of blues and browns with the addition of deep mustard and sage green in this kids room. Once you’ve chosen your colours and chosen the pieces you feel will be perfect for your gallery wall I like to lay them out on the floor and see what layouts work and what feels right. You can also cut the basic shape of your pictures and wall décor from paper or cardboard ( I like to re use old parcel packaging) you can then tape them on the wall using masking tape (be sure to use a tape that can be used without damaging your walls) this should give you a better idea of how your wall will look and gives you a template to work with as you add your chosen décor pieces.

I would love to see your gallery wall pics, share them on Instagram tagging @boboandthemouse or using #boboandthemouse
